Missions Team

Reelfoot Rural Missions:

Aldersgate supports Reelfoot Rural Ministries through the Christmas Toy Store, back-to-school collections, disaster relief, and single day mission trips throughout the year.

RIFA Soup Kitchen:

Every 4th Thursday of each month Aldersgate provides a devotional, and prepares and serves an evening meal at RIFA’s Soup Kitchen. The Soup Kitchen provides hot meals to those in need 365 days a year. There is no charge for the meal, and no one is turned away.

The Read Team:

The Read Team is a partnership with Jackson-Madison County Schools to provide tutors to assigned 2nd Grade students.

Love Packages

Aldersgate collects and sends materials used in the Love Packages program. Love Packages is fueling international missions work and sending the gospel to the ends of the earth by putting donated bibles and other Christian literature into the hands of people around the world.

Friendship Group:

The Friendship Group is a fellowship and nurturing program for the local special needs population. They meet once per month for programming, fellowship and prayer.

Just Desserts:

This outreach provides desserts once a month to RIFA’s soup kitchen.

Support to Ministries through Special Collections:

Special collections throughout the year go to support local missions and ministries such
Birth Choice Crisis Pregnancy Center and Jackson Humanitarian Relief.

Blessing Box

Aldersgate is home to one of Jackson’s Blessing Boxes. Church members and community members are welcome to put non-perishable foods and other essentials in the box, or to take whatever they need from the box.

Meals on Wheels

Working with the local Meals on Wheels is a new mission for Aldersgate, providing drivers to deliver meals to homes on a weekly basis.

Project 20/20 Glasses

Aldersgate members donate used eye glasses. These glasses are taken to a place that checks the prescription and then distributes the glasses to people who cannot afford new glasses.

Prayer Box

In 2014 Aldersgate installed a Community Prayer Box in the parking lot for written prayer requests . The prayer box was developed as an extension of Aldersgate’s active prayer ministry. The Community Prayer Box has become a great way for Aldersgate to reach outside the church walls.
